How to make random teams

Type or paste one name per line (commas work too). Choose whether you want a set number of teams, or a set number of players in each team, then tap Generate. Not happy? Shuffle again as often as you like, then copy the result or send it straight to your group chat.

If the numbers don’t divide evenly, the extra players are spread out so no team is more than one player bigger than another. Nobody gets left over.

Shuffle teams as often as you like

Every tap on Shuffle again reshuffles the whole list into brand-new random teams, so you can shuffle teams between games, reshuffle when someone arrives late, or keep shuffling until everyone agrees. It works as a team picker, a group randomizer or a simple name shuffler for anything that needs random groups.

Is it really random?

Yes. Every shuffle uses the Fisher–Yates algorithm with your browser’s random number generator, so every split is equally likely. The order you type names in makes no difference, and the generator has no memory of previous shuffles.
